Ricquea Pierce

Regina Covington is originally from Greensboro, NC. She holds a MBA from Ashford University and an Undergraduate degree from NC A&T State University. Regina has been teaching modern dance and choreography for over 20 years to youth and adults. Regina is a certified Liturgical Dance instructor under Jocelyn Richards Ministries in Atlanta, GA. Regina’s dance training began at the age of twelve at Weaver Dance Academy where she studied tap, jazz and modern. She continued her journey in dance and cheer throughout high school and college as a coach and dance educator. She was mentored and taught liturgical modern dance under Kim Simmons at Power House of Deliverance Spirit Led Performing Arts since the age of 17. She has traveled in dance ministry and ministered at worship services, recitals and events in many cities since the age of 18.

Ricquea Pierce is a mother of four, born and raised in Shreveport Louisiana, began dancing at the age of 6 with basic ballet, modern and west African training. Throughout her time in Louisiana, she served as dance ministry leader at her local church as well as company dancer of Inner-City Row Modern Dance Company, Black Box Dance and St. Catherine’s Community Dance Center. She then relocated to North Carolina in 2014 and is now a company dancer at Royal Expressions and continues her passion for liturgical dance at Mt Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro. Not only is Ricquea passionate about worshipping God through dance, she also enjoys instructing children of all ages and is dedicated to their advancement through technical training as well as understanding movement as a form of praise and worship.

Sanaia Moore

Yahira Robinson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she studied Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, African, Dance History, and Improvisation, in addition to earning her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Currently, she is a master’s student who loves sharing her passion and love for dance through teaching. Before teaching dance, Yahira served as a dance coordinator and dance student on a school dance team, a performing arts club, and in a university. She loves to share dance and hopes to convey to others how it can be a form of therapy. 

Sanaia Moore, born and raised in South Carolina, her dance career started at the age of 6 performing in various genres from Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop on the Recreational and Competitive Sides. At the age of 12, she continued her journey in a Performing Arts Program in South Carolina where she focused solely on dance. Sanaia is a Junior at North Carolina A&T State University majoring in Secondary Education in Biology.

Chandler Ransome is a Senior Psychology student with a minor in dance, attending North Carolina A&T State University. Dancing since the age of 3, Chandler is passionate about the strength in movement and the ability to create positive relationships through dance. She is trained in: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-hop, Modern, Horton, African, Acrobatics, and much more.

Katie Ballard began her dance journey nineteen years ago in Winston Salem, NC. She has expansive training and teaching experience in many different styles such as Irish, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tumbling, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre. She took part in many musical productions in her early years, not only on the stage but also in the roles of Dance Captain and Assistant Choreographer. She began teaching dance seven years ago, leading her to pursue dance at the higher education level. She majored in Dance Studies and minored in Somatic Sustainability at Appalachian State University. While in Boone she served as Director of the Anyone Can Dance Program and she had the opportunity to choreograph for the Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble. Katie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Appalachian after completing her honors thesis in the Spring of 2022. She is hopeful to continue her education in the coming years with a Masters and a PHD both in related dance fields. She currently teaches dance in different regions of North Carolina and she is so excited to have the opportunity to grow with such an amazing studio!
