Regina Covington – Founder, Visionary, Youth Development Leader

 

Regina Covington is a passionate entrepreneur, youth development advocate, and creative visionary dedicated to empowering the next generation through the arts. With over 20 years of experience as an arts educator, she has trained dancers beginning as young as age three, helping to shape both their skill and confidence. She began her dance journey at the age of 12 at Weaver Dance Academy, expanding to Power House of Deliverance Performing Arts where she was mentored and trained, traveling and ministering the gospel of the arts in different cities.

Fifteen years ago, Regina became a certified Liturgical Dance Educator, deepening her knowledge and expanding her purpose in using dance as a form of worship and expression. This journey led her to establish a program rooted in both excellence and faith.

She currently serves on the board at Tabernacle International Church, as well as with H.U.U.R.T. Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing tangible resources to those in need.

Regina is the founder and director of Miriam’s Dance Academy, a faith-based, community-centered program that goes beyond teaching dance technique to intentionally build confidence, character, and identity in youth ages 3 to 18. She has created an environment where dance is not only learned, but experienced as a tool for personal growth and God-centered devotion. Her programs offer training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, cheer, acro, and more, all while incorporating life lessons that impact students both on and off the stage.

In addition to her work in dance education, Regina is a full-time Administrative Assistant at a financial services company and a devoted mother of two. She is also the founder of Praise Fit by Regina, an online women’s fitness community designed to promote joy, movement, and connection through low-impact dance fitness.

Through her leadership, Regina continues to expand her reach by building strong community partnerships, developing outreach programs, and creating opportunities for youth to thrive in safe, positive, and purpose-driven environments. Her mission is clear: to use her gifts to uplift others, strengthen communities, and inspire individuals to walk confidently in their identity in Christ.
