Regina Covington is the founder and proud owner of Miriam's Dance Academy. Regina is originally from Greensboro, NC. She holds a MBA from Ashford University and an Undergraduate degree from NC A&T State University. Regina has been teaching modern dance and choreography for over 20 years to youth and adults. Regina is a certified Liturgical Dance instructor under Jocelyn Richards Ministries in Atlanta, GA. She loves to see dancers evolve from infancy stages to mature dancers in Christ. Her desire to see dancers of all ages bloom from where they are to their purpose in their lives.
Regina’s dance training began at the age of twelve at Weaver Dance Academy where she studied tap, jazz and modern. She continued her journey in dance and cheer throughout high school and college as a coach and dance educator. She was mentored and taught liturgical modern dance under Kim Simmons at Power House of Deliverance Spirit Led Performing Arts since the age of 17. She has traveled in dance ministry and ministered at worship services, recitals and events in many cities since the age of 18.
Regina currently serves as the dance team leader at Tabernacle International Church and serves on the board of H.U.U.R.T. Community Development non-profit. She wants to bring liturgical dance outside of the four walls of the church so that souls can be reached and lives can be changed through the gift of dance.
Regina is so happy to be giving back the gift that God has given her. She is dedicated to the students at MDA and is passionate about what she does.
